This week's Poetry Jam asks us to write a love poem. Well, any love poems I write or have written remain a private exchange between the man and me. However, I do have a little poem that I've given to friends in the past as a wedding gift. I hand pen it exquisitely on parchment paper in either Chancery Cursive or Old English calligraphy with iconography to frame the words, and place it in a lovely frame. Ha! Surely, they've been best sellers at tag sales.
I took this photo in Kilkenny, Ireland.
Two Lives
Two lives entwined
through space and time
sharing an opus
together,
each day to bring
a step toward the dream
of Love's harmonic embrace.
Jeanne I. Lakatos

nice...i like the harmonic embrace...and the shape of this suggest the entwined as well...
ReplyDeleteSharing an opus together - I like the idea that a shared life is a shared work.
ReplyDeleteSounds good to me...
ReplyDeleteBrian: Thank you, Brian. I'm always amazed at the 'shape' of lines once they're placed on the page.
ReplyDeleteArgent: It is indeed, isn't it?
Jinksy: Thank you!
Beautiful ... I doubt any of your poems ended up in tag sales!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Helen. Very kind of you to say that about the tag sales, too.
