Welcome! A few years ago, I discovered an application that artists employ in their works to bring cultural awareness to their audiences. Having discerned this semiotic theory that applies to literature, music, art, film, and the media, I have devoted the blog,Theory of Iconic Realism to explore this theory. The link to the publisher of my book is below. If you or your university would like a copy of this book for your library or if you would like to review it for a scholarly journal, please contact the Edwin Mellen Press at the link listed below. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Troubadours of Truth

A small group of my colleagues and I would meet occasionally to let off a little steam. We called it the Meeting of the Minds, but I also like the term used here: Troubadours of Truth. We haven't met in a while now, but I think of these meetings with fondness. Enjoy!

Troubadours of Truth

We meet in various locales
far enough away from the others
who meet for what they think
are much more crucial causes.

At our 'meetings of the minds'
we pun and chortle, sip our drinks
and cheerfully lighten
our burdens of misanthropy
with stories that feed our souls.

Our meetings begin and end
with hugs and reassurance
that common sense is a reality,
if surveyed through the pane
of the Troubadours of Truth.
