Ascension

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father." (John 14:12) 

As we experience the annual feast of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, we can understand the powerful Love extended to all through this Heavenly sacrifice. 

Below is a poem that I have written for this occasion: 

Ascension
Our eyes meet in a Heavenly gaze
and I am struck with desire to continue
 His mighty challenge. 
Weariless, brave, courageous
am I, His soldier of Peace
in a world in need of 
Ascension 
over fear.

Get back to the Love of God.

During this time of the year:

Christians celebrate the feast of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit gifted the Jewish people, celebrating Shavuot, with ways to communicate with each other. This gift extended to the followers of Jesus with the power to help themselves and others learn about God and His Love for us through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Our obligation becomes one of communicating Peace and Love for one another.

The Jewish community's celebration of Shavuot honors God’s gift of law and order through the gift of the Ten Commandments to Moses. 

Love of humanity, Law and Order. We all need to open our Bibles again, for a spiritual awakening is due.

Happy 4th of July! (Independence Day for the U.S.A.)

Hopefully, we will have another gorgeous day this 4th of July, like we did last year, with the parade route filled with good cheer, children and smiles.

Tornado!

This past week, a line of EF level 5 tornadoes ripped through 6 southern states, demolishing homes, businesses and cities, killing 350 people, and leaving thousands homeless. Since many of these businesses were in small towns, many people are now without homes, members of their families, neighbors and employment. Included in this tornado path was the University of Alabama. In some cases, entire towns were leveled.

What is amazing is that shelters set up for the victims of this natural disaster are virtually empty because neighbors are taking in the newly homeless. Not only that, a bold effort is taking place to engage actively in rebuilding the businesses and homes. Love... is what it's all about.
