Welcome! A few years ago, I discovered an application that artists employ in their works to bring cultural awareness to their audiences. Having discerned this semiotic theory that applies to literature, music, art, film, and the media, I have devoted the blog,Theory of Iconic Realism to explore this theory. The link to the publisher of my book is below. If you or your university would like a copy of this book for your library or if you would like to review it for a scholarly journal, please contact the Edwin Mellen Press at the link listed below. Looking forward to hearing from you!

Always Looking Up

An angel hovers over my house in the calm sky.

'Morning' Recitative
(from my operetta, Luminescence)

A graceful breeze embraces feathered wings
of russet, crimson and blue.
They touch extended branches of clustered trees.
Selected boughs move in a synchronized dance
to brushed rhythms
of these singing birds in flight.
Desire reigns gloriously in this place
as passion prepares for another day
of feeling
the buoyancy.

  6. Thanks, Dana! Yes, I do believe a Guardian Angel was on duty during this hurricane/tropical storm event.

  7. I had to reread it a few times to get the layers of what is going on. I'll come back and read it again because I know I'll find even more layers and meaning and music.

  8. Thanks, Heaven! Had power and cell service throughout the winds and rain. Lost it when after the storm cleared the region. Go figure!

Hi Sherrie, Thank you so much. Yes, the harp brings tranquility of mind and spirit. Even when I'm just playing arpeggios or scales, I believe my pulse slows a bit. :)

Hey Twinkly! Drop by as often as you like. Yes, I do layer the meaning in my poetry.
